From the Bank to the Highway
I didn't start out planning to run a trucking company. Before I ever got behind the wheel, I was working in banking. But that world didn't fit — I wanted something where the work was real and the results were mine.
Ever since we're in business in Canada, we started from the ground up: long-haul routes, garbage trailers, cryogenic tankers, asphalt trailers. Every one of those jobs taught me something different about this industry — the equipment, the schedules, the people who make freight move. I didn't skip steps. I earned every mile.
That experience is what built Ropar Transport. Today I run a dry van operation out of Hamilton, Ontario, hauling freight across Canada and into the US. My better half handles dispatch alongside me, and I manage the business end myself — no layers, no guesswork, just direct accountability on every load.
This is just the starting point. My goal is to grow Ropar beyond a small truck fleet, build direct relationships with shippers instead of relying on the open market, and diversify into new freight types. Longer term, I want to own a truck stop — a business that keeps me tied to this industry while giving me something more stable to build on.
I've done the work from the bottom up. That's not changing — it's just growing.
